Iranian Oil Minister Rostam Qasemi has ordered all the contractors of the South Pars Gas Field Development Project to move to the three-shift-working system to complete development of all phases, especially the phases 12, 15, 16, 17 and 18, the ISNA news agency reported.

The contractors should report at least a 2-percent growth in their overall progress each month, he said.

The South Pars output will surpass 290 million cubic meters per day by late this year , Mr. Qasemi added. The Iranian new year begins in March.

The South Pars gas field is shared by Iran and Qatar. The Iranian share, which is divided into 24 phases, possesses about 14 trillion cubic meters of gas, or about 8 percent of the total world reserves, and more than 18 billion barrels of liquefied natural gas resources.
