The Oil Traders Association of Kyrgyzstan will submit a proposal on Azerbaijani oil supply to Kyrgyzstan for consideration to the Government, KyrTAG quoted Association President Jumakadyr Akeneyev as reporting on Thursday.
"Talks with Azerbaijani oil traders and the managements of the railway authorities of Russia, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan over Azerbaijani oil supply to Kyrgyzstan are currently underway. A conclusion on the talks will be offered for consideration to the Government of Kyrgyzstan," Akeneyev reported.
He said high-quality, cheap Azerbaijani oil delivery to Kyrgyzstan requires conclusion of intergovernmental agreement envisioning purchase of oil from Azerbaijan at Kyrgyzstan's internal prices.
The issue of lubricants supply at preferential terms will be raised at the talks.
"Besides, it is necessary to provide transportation, which also requires additional costs. There are two supply routes: via Russia and Kazakhstan or Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. However, there are certain problems as some railway sections are overloaded, i.e. this requires Government's interference," Akeneyev explained.
He said the cheapest, most profitable oil currently goes from Russian towns Tomsk and Salavat at a price of $500 to $600 per ton.
