Uzbekistan to complete electricity line by 2015

Uzbekistan will build a 500 kV high-voltage electric transmission line 'Syrdarya TPP - New Angren TPP' having a length of 130 kilometres and at a total cost of $83.4 million between 2012-2014, a source at Uzbekenergo told Trend today.

According to the source, the main technical and economic parameters of the project were approved by the Uzbek President. The project will be financed from Uzbekenergo's own funds worth $ 46.4 million and a Chinese Eximbank's loan worth $37.1 million.

Uzbekenergo is going to carry out the project's construction work and develop the plans until April 1, 2012.

According to the company's specialists, the construction of the transmission line will increase the amount of electricity flows between the eastern and central part of the country.
