SOCAR completes geophysical studies on Zig-Hovsan field

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to complete three-dimensional (3D) geophysical studies on the Zig-Hovsan fields and "Guru-Deniz" site developed by Absheron Operating Company in January.

He said that the geophysical work is underway within the project. But it is under completion.

"The offshore operations have been completed," a source said. At present, the onshore operations are underway. In January, geophysical surveys in this area will be fully completed."
SOCAR will conduct data processing and interpretation of the received data. It will take six months.

The participants of PSA to develop a block of onshore fields Zig-Hovsani are SOCAR (25 percent) and Global Invest (75 percent).
Zig-Hovsani fields are located in the southern part of the Apsheron Peninsula. Zig field was discovered in 1935, and Hovsan - in 1948.
