Baku’s energy operator ups electricity purchase

Bakielektrikshebeke (electricity sale and distribution in Baku) bought about 7.36 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in January-November 2011 from Azerenergy (electricity production and distribution in Azerbaijani regions) compared to over 7.2 billion kilowatt-hours in January-November 2010, the company's official website reported.

The company bought about 7.92 billion kilowatt-hours in 2010 compared to about 8.1 billion kilowatt hours in 2009 from Azerenergy.

The company bought 799.1 million kilowatt-hours in November 2011 compared to 636.6 million kilowatt hours in November 2010 from Azerenergy.

Bakielektrikshebeke paid on average 92.5 percent in January-November 2011 for electricity from Azerenergy compared to 88.14 percent during the corresponding period of 2010.

In 2010 this figure hit 96.2 percent compared to 84.44 percent on average in 2009.
