Kazakhstan increases oil and gas production

Kazakhstan increased oil and gas production in 2011, the Kazakh Statistics Agency said on Wednesday.

According to the agency, the country's oil production amounted to 80 million tons in January-December, which is 0.5 percent more than in 2010.

Natural gas during this period were produced at 39.3 billion cubic meters, which is 6.7 percent more than the same period in 2010.

According to the agency, flat roll production increased by 7.1 percent (up to 3.1 million tons), production of refined copper by 4.6 percent - (up to 338,300 tons) and electricity production by 3.6 percent (up to 85.8 billion kWh) in the country in 2011.

Chemical and metallurgical, engineering and nonmetal mineral product production also increased.
