The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) submitted appropriate documentation to participate in a tender for the purchase of stake in Turkey's electricity distribution company Baskent Doğal Gaz, the Turkish company told Trend on Monday.
Besides SOCAR other foreign and local companies participate in a tender for purchase of 80 percent stake of Baskent Doğal Gaz, the company said.
Earlier SOCAR participated in tender for purchase of a 90-percent stake in IGDAS Company (İstanbul Gaz Dağıtım Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi), which owns the gas distribution network of Istanbul.
"The deadline for bidding in the tender was extended until Jan.27. Then bids will be assessed and tender's winner will be announced," the company noted.
The company also said that the tender winner will have to pay 50 percent of the tender's cost and the other 50 percent can be paid in 2 years.
Earlier SOCAR's joint petrochemical company got a license for gross sale in Turkey's domestic market.
The license was issued for 30 years by the group of regulating Turkey's energy market.
Earlier SOCAR reached an agreement with the Turkish side on purchase and further sale of gas in Turkey to the volume of 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Most gas will be delivered to Petkim's petrochemical complex owned partially by SOCAR and the remaining volume will be sold to consumers in Turkey's domestic market.
