Enterprises included in the Azerkimya Production Association produced 275,600 tons of various chemical products last year.
Polyethylene accounted for about 75,300 tons in 2011.
Most of the products were produced by the Ethylene-Polyethylene Plant, which accounted for 212,400 tons in 2011. Its synthetic rubber site produced about 23,500 tons of the products and its Surface-Active Substances Plant created about 28,340 tons. Organic synthesis accounted for about 11,400 tons of oil products.
In December, the association's chemical companies produced about 32,130 tons of various chemical products.
According to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's decree on April 2, 2010, efforts are made to improve petrochemical industry management.
