A ban on exports of light oil products in Kazakhstan will also remain in 2012, Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev said at the final board meeting yesterday.

"[...] Russia, probably correctly treats: if you are not importers of light oil products, any fact of exports of light oil products, in fact, is re-export of Russian volumes, and until you do not engage in self-sufficiency, it would be wrong to re-export Russian volumes, speculating in differences in customs duties, which are high in Russia ," Mynbayev said.

He said that this argument of the Russian side is accepted by Kazakhstan.

"Thus, the so-called excess of light oil products, which were formed in the early winter months, should be reserved for subsequent use in peak periods of spring and autumn consumption," Mynbayev said.
