SOCAR filling stations are preparing for sale of petroleum products through new cash registers

State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will bring into operation new cash registers at their filling stations in late February and early March, SOCAR told Trend on Monday.

SOCAR Petroleum, in which SOCAR owns a controlling stake, operates the filling stations.
New cash registers have been installed at almost all SOCAR filling stations, and refueling of vehicles will be provided through these cash registers after aligning of the system.

New cash registers will be installed at gas pumps and the fuel will flow into the tank of the car only after payment has been made. All data on the operations will automatically appear in the database of the Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan.

There are currently 14 SOCAR filling stations in Azerbaijan.Minister of Taxes of Azerbaijan, Fazil Mammadov, signed an order to enforce a decision of the Cabinet of the Ministers.

According to the document, registration and replacement of old vehicles for new cash registers is provided before the January 1, 2012. The new cash registers block the sale of oil and gas without the issuance of the check, which have a special design and technical performance and are registered in the State Register.

A schedule of activities was approved in connection with the use of new cash registers.
There are 850 filling stations in total in Azerbaijan.

SOCAR Petroleum shareholders are SOCAR (51%) and the American A.P. International (49%). SOCAR Petroleum was registered on Jan. 21, 2008.
