Neftgazelmitedgigatlayikha Institute of SOCAR (Azerbaijan's State Oil Company) will complete the design of new platforms for the Oil Rocks offshore oil field, SOCAR reported on Tuesday.
The institute has already launched designing a new platform 602a, which will play an important role in production increasing in the field.
The new platform is designed to locate at a depth of 18 meters and to drill 14 wells. The platform will be equipped with a residential unit for 36 people, a helipad, 12-ton lift installation and other necessary equipment.
SOCAR includes the Azneft production association (the companies producing oil and gas on and offshore), the Azerkimya industrial association (chemical enterprises) and Azerigaz industrial association (gas distribution).
SOCAR is the only producer of oil products in the country (it has two refineries under possession) and also owns petrol stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine and Romania. Also SOCAR bought a network of petrol stations in Switzerland. SOCAR is co-owner of the largest Turkish petrochemical complex Petkim.
