Upgrading work is underway on Aksu Thermal Power Plant (Pavlodar region of Kazakhstan). The change of electrolysis installation at the cost of 355 million tenge (2.3 million dollars) has been completed, Eurasian Energy Corporation reported on Wednesday.
Electrolytic decomposition of water produces hydrogen for cooling thermal power generators and industrial oxygen in the electrolyzers. Civil work has been executed, tank-receivers for the gas reserves storing have been installed, management and automation boards have been changed. This increased the safety of the power plant.
According to the complex program of Aksu TPP upgrade, the second electrolyzer will be changed. At the present time preparation works are carried out.
