KazTransGas revenue increases by 13 percent in 2011

KazTransGas consolidated revenues amounted to 272.7 billion tenge (over $1.8 billion) in 2011, or 13 percent more than in 2010, the company said on Thursday.

"The consolidated profit amounted to 32.5 billion tenge ($219 million), a decrease of 25 percent compared to the planned figure," the company reported in a statement.

The company said gas transportation through gas mains amounted to 110.5 billion cubic meters in 2011, or an increase of nine percent compared to 2010. The company plans to transport 108.5 billion cubic meters of gas in 2012.

Natural gas cargo transportation through trunk pipelines amounted to 41.409 trillion cubic meters per kilometer, an increase of 13 percent compared to 2010. The figure is planned to reach 51.182 trillion cubic meters per kilometer in 2012.

Natural gas extraction during the reporting period amounted to 11 billion cubic meters, which is 28 percent more than the plan and 34 percent more than in 2010. The figure is planned to reach 12 billion cubic meters in 2012.

According to operational data, gas production amounted to 326.5 million cubic meters in 2011. Gas production decreased by five percent compared to 2010.
