Turkey grants licenses for hydrocarbons exploration to three companies

Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Ministry granted licenses to three companies to conduct exploration work in the Turkish cities of Canakkale, Kilis and Gaziantep, Turkish Resmi Gazete reported on Friday.

Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Ministry granted licenses to three companies to conduct exploration work in the Turkish cities of Canakkale, Kilis and Gaziantep, Turkish Resmi Gazete reported on Friday.

Licenses are issued to the Turkish oil and gas company Merty Enerji and Dutch Marsa Turkey B.V., which will conduct exploration in the city of Canakkale in the territory of 48,897 hectares.

The licenses are granted for four years. Each company has a 50-percent share in exploratory work.

The license for hydrocarbons exploration in the cities of Kilis and Gaziantep is granted to the company Hanedan Enerji. The company will conduct exploration in the territory of 47,881 hectares.

The license is granted for four years under the term of drilling the first well within the first year of exploration work. Otherwise, the license will be revoked.
