Some 29 percent in oil production in Kazakhstan account for the U.S. companies, Kazakh Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev said on Friday.
"Some 26 million tons out of 80 million tons of oil produced per year in Kazakhstan account for Tengizchevroil, shareholder of which is "Chevron"," Mynbayev said at the international conference "Kazakhstan-USA: 20 years of partnership in the name of security and development" in Astana on Friday.
In addition, he recalled U.S. companies Exxon Mobil and ConocoFillips also operate in the oil and gas sector in Kazakhstan.
