In the first six months of 2012, the Azerbaijani metallurgical industry produced products and rendered services worth 223.2 million manat, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Trend today.
Amount of production in metallurgical industry increased by 12.1 percent, finished metal products during this period increased by 82 times.
Some 113,500 tons steel casting was produced in the first six months, steel pipes - 32,100 tons.
Amount of production of iron casting reached 547 tons, which is 3.7 percent more than the same period of 2011.
Amount of export of semi-finished products made from ferrous metal totaled 65,500 tons (to the amount of more than $34 million), which is 25.9 percent (in monetary terms - by 17.2 percent) less than the same index of 2011.
The amount of exported pipes made from ferrous metal hit 19,900 tons (to the amount of over $19.1 million), which is 48.7 percent (in monetary terms by 52.5 percent) less compared to the same period of 2011.
