It isn't possible to avoid a gasoline price increase in Kazakhstan in the near future.
Higher prices for fuel and oil in Kazakhstan in the near future cannot be avoided, a source at Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant told Trend.

A fuel price increase can't be avoided due to the increased gas supply price from Russia," the source said.

The refinery is the largest refinery in Kazakhstan. It was built during the Soviet Union, and initially focused on technologically crude oil refining.

"If before the price of gas supplies from Russia was 106 - 107 tenge per barrel (about 70 cents), then now it has grown to 117 tenge (about 80 cents) per barrel," the source said.

In his view, the requirements of the owners of gas stations to the Ministry of Oil and Gas to revise the ceiling of retail prices are due to their concern for their profits.

Earlier, owners of gas stations in Kazakhstan appealed to the Ministry of Oil and Gas with a demand to review the maximum retail price of fuel.
