Uzbekistan will increase electricity rates

State Joint Stock Company (SAC) Uzbekenergo announced the increase of electricity rates starting October 1 2012.

According to the company, the cost per kilowatt / hour of electricity which is issued to the population will increase by seven percent - to 104.4 sums (previously - 97.5 sums). In the buildings, equipped with electric stoves, the cost per kW / h of electricity will be increased to 52.2 from 48.75 sums.

Previous increase of electricity rates took place in Uzbekistan half a year ago, on April 1 2012. The increase in electricity rates amounted to 7 percents.

As previously reported, starting October 1 tariffs in Uzbekistan will increase by 9 percent for central heating and hot water supply and by 8.3 percent for cold water supply.

The official exchange rate for September 20 is 1934,37/$ 1.
