Distribution networks in Kazakh city of Taraz upgrading

Kazakh firm KazTransGas has started implementing a project to modernise the gas distribution system of the city of Taraz city, the company said on Friday.

According to the information, the project implementation will improve the reliability and stability of the power supply to the population and enterprises, create conditions for the development of industry, small and medium business and enhance the level and quality of life.

'Over 900 km of gas pipelines in the city are planned to be upgraded and the transition to a two-tier gas supply system is planned to be made', the statement said. 'This will solve the problem of insufficient gas pressure supplied to customers, increase the capacity of the system and apply the counters with integrated smart cards."

Moreover, the gas pipeline is being constructed from the automated gas distribution station Kordai to the town of Shu in the Zhambyl region. The work is planned to be completed in December. The project implementation will allow the gasification of 25 settlements.

KazTransGas is Kazakhstan's national operator in the field of gas and gas supply.
