Petkim’s proceeds from exports increase by 29 percent

In January-September, Turkish Petkim petrochemical complex, in which the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has a stake, exported products worth $817 million, or 29 percent more than the same period of last year, Petkim said on Friday.

In January-September, Turkish Petkim petrochemical complex, in which the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has a stake, exported products worth $817 million, or 29 percent more than the same period of last year, Petkim said on Friday.

According to the report, Petkim exported products worth $634 million in January-September 2011.

"This year, volume of Petkim's exports will reach one billion dollars," the report says
Accordingly, during the reporting period, the total share of exports in Petkim's total turnover hit 43 percent.

Earlier SOCAR Turkey Enerji A.S and SOCAR International DMCC OGG acquired a 10.32 per cent stake in Petkim, increasing SOCAR's stake in the company to 61.32 per cent. Some 38.67 per cent are in free circulation at the Istanbul Stock Exchange.

Petkim Petrokimya Holding manufactures plastic packages, fabric, PVC, detergents being the only Turkish producer of such products, a quarter of which the company exports.
