State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to complete the drilling of the first production well at the gas field Umid in the first half of 2013, first vice-president of SOCAR Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh told journalists on Monday.
He noted that now the depth of the new well is 2550 meters.
"Daily gas production from one well at the field Umid, that was previously drilled as an exploration, is 800 thousand cubic meters of gas and 140 tons of gas condensate," the vice president of the company said.
But Yusifzade added that there is an opportunity to increase production at the field by increasing the union.
"The drilling of the second well is planned given the capacity of the new field," the vice-president of SOCAR said.
SOCAR works on drilling of the first exploration well in the perspective offshore structure Goshadash in the frame of the study of Mesozoic sediments. At present, the depth of the well is 1,500 meters. The well has a high pressure gas.
Yusifzade noted that there are opportunities to open new field.
