Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 27th / Trend, E. Ismayilov /

Work on infrastructure organization was launched within the creation of a new chemical technology park, the deputy head of the park, Zaur Mammadov told journalists on Thursday.
He said that all infrastructure necessary for the park's operation will be provided by Azerbaijan and all necessary conditions will be created for the free operation of foreign investors.

In particular, 43 companies are planned to operate in the park which has a total area of 168 hectares. According to preliminary calculations, around five thousand people will be involved in the production process.

Infrastructure organization efforts include laying power lines, gas and water transmission lines, the creation of administrative and social facilities and a sewage system.

A vocational school will be established on the park's territory, where 1,200 people will be able to receive education.

Mammadov said that preference will be given to companies specializing in the production of final polymer product. This is explained because the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is planning to build a new complex for oil and gas and petrochemical production in Azerbaijan.

Accordingly, large volumes of polymer raw materials will be produced in the country.
Canada, Germany and South Korea have already expressed intention to open enterprises on the park's territory.

The production area will make up 70 percent of the park's total territory. Infrastructure objects and other facilities will be placed on the remaining area.

Mammadov said this year it was expected to invest 15 million manat in the park's creation.
