In January-February 2013, the Baku International Sea Trade Port transported 190,000 tons of oil cargo, or 10 percent less than the same period of 2012, a source in Baku port told Trend today.

In 2012, the port transshipped 1.4 million tons of oil cargo compared to 1.74 million tons in 2011.
The decrease in oil cargo transshipment from Central Asia is associated with their redirection to other oil terminals in Azerbaijan.

"In January-February, there was a 10 percent decline in transshipment of oil and oil products, which is associated with an increase in transshipment of goods through other terminals,' a source said.

But the port transported 130,000 tons of oil cargo in February, which is 40 per cent more than the same period of 2012.

In 2010, the port transported 1.99 million tons of oil cargo, which is 21 per cent less than in 2009.
