SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) is forecasting the volume of gas production at independently developed fields at the level of 2012, a high-ranked representative of SOCAR told Trend.
In 2012, SOCAR produced about 8.3 million tons of oil and 6.9 billion cubic meters of gas compared to slightly 8.4 million tons and about 7.1 billion cubic meters of oil and gas, respectively, in 2011.
SOCAR includes Azneft (onshore and offshore oil and gas production), Azerkimya (chemical industrya) and Azerigas (gas distribution) production associations, as well as a number of processing enterprises, service enterprises and institutions engaged in geophysical and drilling operations.
