Turkmengeology State Corporation plans to sign a contract with Chinese production company Lanzhou LS-National Oil well Petroleum Engineering Co. Ltd for the development of Galkinish gas field, the recently published decision of the Turkmen President says.
According to the decision, a contract will be signed for the purchase two ZJ70DB drilling rigs needed to carry out the further drilling of wells.
The company will also have to conduct installation and start-up work on the above-mentioned rigs, as well as engage in the training of specialists.
Earlier, it was reported that the company will supply five ZJ70DBS drilling rigs to the Turkmengaz state interest on the similar terms.
The contract will up production by 30 billion cubic meters of marketable gas per year at the Galkinish field.
Preparations are underway at the Galkinish field located in the Mary region to launch a gas processing plant, plant for the desulphurisation of extracted hydrocarbons and the preparation of commercial gas, production wells and infrastructure.
This field is one of the largest in the world in terms of its resource reserves, confirmed by authoritative international experts at 26.2 trillion cubic meters of gas.
