The Georgian government made amendments in the agreement on Khudoni HPP between the commercial power grid operator, 'Energotrans' Ltd., 'Transelectrica Limited' and 'Transelectrica Georgia LTD' signed on April 28, 2011, Environment Minister Khatuna Gogaladze told reporters after a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday.

"This agreement was amended today. To a certain extent they were about a tariff more beneficial for the country. Hoewver the defect of the memorandum in general, and this agreement, in my opinion, is that they impose certain obligations on the country, and put it in a frame if this project will not be implemented," Gogaladze said.

According to her, while concluding such agreements it would be better first to study all the details, analyze them, and only after these to conclude an agreement or a memorandum.

"Our position is to undertake a comprehensive study to make the right decision," the Minister said.

Speaking about the protest of the population of Khaishi against the construction of the hydroelectric power plant, Gogaladze said that f the people's opinion is important or her and the government.

"For me and, I think, for every member of the government, public opinion has a great significance, especially the opinion of Khaishi residents who will suffer most of all if a positive decision made on the project," she said.
