The NATO, as well as the U.S. works and will work closely with Azerbaijan on the issues of energy security and infrustructure protection, U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Richard Morningstar told journalists in Baku on Thursday.
"Azerbaijan understands this issue, and we are looking forward to working with it," Morningstar.
Morningstar stressed that the cooperation between NATO and Azerbaijan is very important.
Morningstar said that the energy security involves many different issues.
"It is not just a threat of terrorist attack, which obviously is a concern. There is also a problem of natural disaster such as earthquake, cybersecurity and other issues," he said.
He said that there are many agencies and ministries in Azerbaijan that play an important role in energy security.
"It is important that the efforts of all ministries to be coordinated," Morningstar said, adding that it is important to analize all the risks and study how the resources can be allocated to avoid the risks.
