SOCAR exports 12 million tons of oil from Ceyhan

In January - July 2013, the Marketing and Economic Operations Management of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) exported 11.84 million tons of oil from the Turkish port of Ceyhan compared to 12.24 million tons in January-July 2012, according to a statement released by SOCAR on Friday.

According to the statement, 1.7 million tons were exported from Ceyhan in July compared to 1.9 million tons in July last year.

The Marketing and Economic Operations Management exported 20.2 million tons of Azerbaijani oil from the port of Ceyhan in 2012 compared to 22.97 million tons in 2011.

Oil is supplied to the Ceyhan port through the main export pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC).

The BТС's total length is 1.768 kilometers, including a 443-kilometer section running via
Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometer section traversing Georgia and a 1.076-kilometer section passing through Turkey. The pipeline's construction began in April 2003. First oil was marked on May 18, 2005.

The shareholders of BTC are BP (30.1 per cent), AzBTC (25 per cent), Chevron (8.90 per cent), Statoil (8.71 per cent), TRAO (6.53 per cent), Eni (5 per cent), Total (5 per cent), Itochu (3.40 per cent), Inpex (2.50 per cent), ConocoPhilips (2.50 per cent) and ONGC (2.36 per cent).
