New thermal power station to be built in north-west Turkey

Turkey has allocated more than two billion Turkish liras for the construction of a new thermal power station (TPP) in Kutahya province in the north-west of the country, Zaman newspaper reported today.

According to the newspaper, the new station will operate on coal, as coal reserves in the province reached 117 million tons.

According to the newspaper, it is expected to be commissioned for the next five years.

The official exchange rate is 2.0442 TRY/USD on Nov. 15.
