Kazakhstan’s oil transportation volume in 2013 announced

The volume of oil transportation via the main pipelines in Kazakhstan in the first 11 months of 2013 amounted to 61.4 million tons, or two per cent more compared to the same period of 2012, Managing Director of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Malik Salimgereyev said at a briefing in Astana on Dec.25.

The volume of oil transportation to Atyrau-Samara in the same period amounted to 14 million tons.

The volume of oil transportation via the Kazakh-China oil pipelines system amounted to 10.9 million tons in the first 11 months of 2013.

The volume of Kazakh oil transportation via Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) system amounted to 26.2 million tons in the same period this year.

In accordance to the development plan of KazMunaiGas JSC for 2014, the transportation volume will amount to 63.5 million tons.

In accordance with the strategy of KazMunaiGas JSC, the volume of oil transportation via the main pipeline will amount to 64 million tons per year by 2020.

Oil transportation via the navy for the aforementioned period amounted to 8.1 million tons or 76 per cent compared to the same period of 2012. It is expected that the volume of oil transportation via the navy will amount to 8.8 million tons as of 2013, which will be 22 per cent less compared to 2012.

Some 1.8 million tons of oil will be transported via the Black Sea, 1.8 million tons through the Mediterranean Sea and 2.9 million tons will be transported from Aktau to Makhachkala through the Caspian Sea and 2.3 million tons from Aktau to Baku.

The oil is transported by Kazmortransflot NMS LLP's own fleet comprising eight tankers, two of which operate in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea which are the Afromaks type with a deadweight of 115,000 tons and six tankers in the Caspian Sea, three having a deadweight of 12,000 tons and three with a deadweight of 13,000 tons.
