The power plants of Azerenergy Joint Stock Company, the largest electrical power producer in Azerbaijan, generated about eight billion kilowatt hours of electricity in January-April, 2014, according to the company' message.
This figure was about 7.8 billion kilowatt hours in January-April, 2013.
The company's plants produced about 1.8 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in April, 2014 - similar to the figure for April 2013, according to the message.
The systematic power interchanges with neighboring countries also continued throughout April.
The capacity of the power plants owned by Azerenergy, exceeds six thousand megawatts. The company also owns hundreds of substations and dozens of thermal- and water power plants.
Azerbaijani energy grid's power generation capacity rose by 30 percent over the past five years.
Currently, this figure stands at 7105 megawatts, allowing to annually produce about 24 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, which in turn means being able to annually export 2.1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity.
