SOCAR increases contributions to state budget over $230 million in first half of 2014

Between January and June 2014, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan made contributions to the state budget in the amount of 968.31 million AZN, which is 182.76 million AZN (23.3 per cent) more than the same period in 2013, SOCAR reported.

In 2013, SOCAR made contributions to the state budget in the amount of 1.57 billion AZN, which is 149.41 million AZN (10.48 per cent) more than in 2012.

In January-June, SOCAR transferred about 72.24 million AZN to the State Social Protection Fund (SSPF).
The contributions to the SSPF amounted to162.91 million AZN over the last year, which is 2.98 percent more than in 2012.

SOCAR includes Azneft (production association of companies producing oil and gas on land and sea), Azerkimya (production association of chemical industry enterprises) and Azerigaz (production association of gas distribution enterprises).

SOCAR is the only producer of oil products in the country (it has two refineries on its balance sheet) and also owns petrol stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania, and Switzerland.
SOCAR is co-owner of the Turkish largest "Petkim" petrochemical complex.
