Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, May 7
By Huseyn Hasanov- Trend:
Turkmenistan intends to increase gas production to 83.8 billion cubic meters and to export 48 billion cubic meters of this volume in 2015, the message from Turkmen Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources said.
The powerful resource base of Turkmenistan's fuel and energy complex allows to sign long-term contracts for stable supply of energy resources, the message said.
Currently, such agreements are in force on three gas pipelines: Turkmenistan-Russia, Turkmenistan-China and Turkmenistan-Iran.
Diversification of gas export is one of the primary tasks of Turkmenistan's energy policy.
Turkmenistan has significant reserve of hydrocarbon resources both onshore and on the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea. The country ranks fourth for the natural gas reserve in the world.
Currently, the country's hydrocarbon reserve is estimated at 71.2 billion metric tons of oil equivalent, which has been proven by international experts. Gaseous hydrocarbon resources account for 70 percent of this volume.
