Turkey intends to cooperate with Azerbaijan in oil and gas exploration, Star newspaper reported with reference to Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz.
He said that Turkey is expected to cooperate with Iran in oil and gas exploration.
"Turkey is currently engaged in the oil and gas exploration in 13 regions in the north of Iraq," he said. "Turkish Energy Company explores seven regions of Iraq. Turkish Energy Company together with Exxon Mobil conducts the operations in six regions."
Turkey is actively searching for oil fields to reduce dependence on oil products from abroad. The high-quality oil reserves were discovered in the Magrip field, Kurtalan area, Turkish province of Siirt in January 2013.
