KazTransGas company of Kazakhstan has commissioned the third branch of Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline, which became the final stage of the project's implementation, said the company.

The length of this branch exceeds 1,300 kilometers.

The design capacity of A, B and C branches of Kazakhstan-China pipeline will be 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

The C branch which runs through the same right-of-way with A and B branches, has passed all technological tests, said the message from KazTransGas - the national operator of Kazakhstan in the sphere of gas and gas supply.

Kazakhstan-China pipeline is part of Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China cross-border gas pipeline with the total length of over 7,500 kilometers.

The proven gas reserve of Kazakhstan totaled 1.5 trillion cubic meters as of Jan.1, 2015, according to BP. The country produced 19.3 billion cubic meters of gas in 2014 compared to 18.6 billion in 2013.

Gas consumption in Kazakhstan stood at 5.6 billion cubic meters in 2014, or a billion cubic meters more than in 2013.
