Iran's commercial gas production increased by 5.7 percent to 192.5 billion cubic meters (bcm) in 2015 year-to-year, BP's published Statistical Review of World Energy on June
9 said.

Iran added 10 bcm to its commercial gas production during 2015.

Commercial gas statistics don't include gas flared or recycled.

According to Iran's official statistics, the country's flared gas was about 11 bcm, while it recycled about 34 bcm of gas to oil fields to maintain the production level in 2015.

According to the BP's report, Iran's proved gas reserves stood at 34 trillion cubic meters last year.

Iran's share in global gas production and reserves stood at 5.4 percent and 18.2 percent respectively.

BP's report added that Iran added about 6.4 trillion cubic meters to its reserves since 2005, while its gas output almost doubled in this period.

Iran produced 102.3 bcm of commercial gas in 2005.

Iran's gas consumption also increased by 6.2 percent to 191.2 bcm in 2015 year-to-year, leaving only a little room for net export, the BP's statistics indicate.

The report estimates that Iran has imported 7.2 bcm of Turkmen gas and exported 7.8 bcm of natural gas to Turkey during last year.

In total Iran's gas export and imports stood at 8.4 bcm and 7.5 bcm in 2015 respectively.
