Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR carried out drilling operations in the volume of 61,680 meters in January-July 2016 versus 62,620 meters during the same period of 2015, said SOCAR message posted on its website Aug. 2.
Some 60,464 meters of all volume of drilling operations accounted for production drilling during the period, and 1,217 meters – for exploration drilling.
SOCAR commissioned 35 new wells in 1H2016.
In 2015, SOCAR carried out drilling work in the volume of 105, 410 meters, which is by 17.2 percent less than the same figure of 2014.
Over 104,400 meters out of the total drilling work carried out in 2015, accounted for production drilling, and the rest – for exploratory drilling.
SOCAR includes companies producing oil and gas both on land and in the sea - "Azneft" production association, the chemical industry enterprise, combined the company “Azerhimiya”, "Azerigaz" – which deals with the distribution of produced gas in the country, oil and gas processing plants, service companies, institutions for geophysical and drilling operations.
