Discounts on gas supplies for Turkey will depend on the volumes of gas consumption, said Alexander Novak in an interview with Russia 24 TV channel.
He also added that the discount will be offered, it will depend on the volume of gas consumed. Novak said that the formula, which is formed only as a list of principles, needs modification, as of today.
”Generally, we are ready to move forward... the work between the two companies will continue,” he explained.
Last week, Russia and Turkey have signed an intergovernmental agreement on the Turkish Stream pipeline project. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said that it was also agreed to offer discounts on gas in the framework of the project discussion.
Turkey’s Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (Botas) filed a lawsuit against Gazprom in the Stockholm Arbitration requiring to lower the price of Russian gas after the companies failed to negotiate a discount for the state-owned company, Oct. 2015.
