Turkey imported 6.14 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas from Iran in January-October 2016 as compared to 6.25 bcm in the same period of 2015, Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority said in a report on its website Jan. 3.
Iran supplied 7.83 bcm of natural gas to Turkey in 2015 as compared to 8.93 bcm in 2014.
The report also says Turkey imported 36.42 bcm of gas in January-October 2016, of which 30.62 bcm were delivered via pipelines, while 5.8 bcm accounted for the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Iran accounted for 16.86 percent of Turkey’s total gas import in January-October 2016.
Turkey imports Iranian gas through Tabriz-Ankara pipeline with capacity of 14 bcm per year.
