By Maksim Tsurkov – Trend:

More than 2.53 million tons (18.78 million barrels) of Azerbaijani oil will be shipped from the Turkish port of Ceyhan in May 2017, a source in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas market told Trend May 4.

A major part of the oil – about 1.9 million tons (14.03 million barrels) – will account for Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, which will deliver 21 cargoes.

The remaining parts will account for Inpex, Chevron, Statoil, TPAO, ExxonMobil and joint volumes, the source added.

Oil from Azerbaijan’s Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli block of oil and gas fields is delivered to Turkey’s Ceyhan port via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline.

The total length of BТС is 1,768 kilometers, including a 443-kilometer section in Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometer section in Georgia and a 1,076-kilometer section in Turkey.

Condensate from Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz and oil from Turkmenistan are also shipped from the Ceyhan port.
