SOCAR’s gas output down

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR produced 1.96 billion cubic meters of gas from onshore and offshore fields using its own funds in January-April 2017, as compared to 2.11 billion cubic meters of gas in the same period of 2016, SOCAR said in a message posted on its website May 19.

Meanwhile, SOCAR produces gas from Shah Deniz and Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (associated gas) fields, developing them jointly with foreign partners.

Total volume of gas produced from the contract fields and fields being developed independently by SOCAR stood at 9.26 billion cubic meters in January-April 2017, as compared to 9.95 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2016.

In 2016, SOCAR produced 6.27 billion cubic meters of gas from the country’s onshore and offshore fields using its own funds, as compared to 6.87 billion cubic meters of gas in 2015.

Total volume of gas produced from the contract fields and fields being developed independently by SOCAR stood at 29.37 billion cubic meters in 2016, as compared to 29.05 billion cubic meters in 2015.
