Turkey’s gas imports from Iran up

Turkey imported of 2.42 billion cubic meters of gas from Iran in January-March 2017 against 2.18 billion cubic meters in 1Q2016, reads a report on the website of Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority.

Iran supplied 7.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Turkey in 2016, as compared to 7.83 billion cubic meters in 2015.

The report said that in total, Turkey imported 16.2 billion cubic meters of gas in January-March 2017, 11.95 billion cubic meters of which was imported via pipelines and 4.25 billion cubic meters accounted for the import of liquefied natural gas.

Iran's share in Turkey’s total imports of gas was 14.92 percent in 1Q2017.

Turkey imports the Iranian gas through the Tabriz-Ankara pipeline with a capacity of 14 billion cubic meters per year.
