Azneft, a production unit of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, produced 2.57 million tons of oil in January-May 2017, Trend learned from Azneft.
During the period, the company also produced more than 2.13 billion cubic meters of gas.
“Forty-nine inactive wells were brought back to operation since early 2017 instead of the planned 25 wells, making it possible to produce additional 14,990 tons of oil,” said Azneft.
SOCAR’s production unit also carried out 267 geological operations, which allowed additionally producing 72,020 tons of oil. The technical work carried out by Azneft resulted in the additional production of 21,620 tons of oil instead of the planned 17,090 tons.
Azneft also said it carried out the drilling work. Twenty wells were drilled and commissioned in January-May 2017.
Some 21,470 tons of oil was extracted from those wells.
