BP delivers more associated gas to Azerbaijan in 1H17

BP has said it delivered 1.8 billion cubic meters of associated gas to Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in 1H17 as compared to 1.31 billion cubic meters a year before.

BP operates the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. Associated gas is delivered to SOCAR free of charge as part of the ACG development.

According to a BP report on its activity in Azerbaijan, the company delivered an average of 10 million cubic meters of the ACG associated gas to SOCAR per day in 1H17.

A contract for development of the ACG block of oil and gas fields was signed in 1994. The proven oil reserves of the block near one billion tons.

Shareholders in the project are BP (operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli, 35.8 percent), Chevron (11.3 percent), Inpex (11 percent), AzACG (11.6 percent), Statoil (8.55 percent), Exxon (8 percent), TPAO (6.75 percent), Itochu (4.3 percent) and ONGC (2.7 percent).
