By Maksim Tsurkov – Trend:

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR exported about 730 million cubic meters of gas to Georgia in January-September 2017, a source in SOCAR told Trend on Oct. 4.

“About 2.7 million cubic meters of gas has been exported daily to Georgia,” said the source. “In the autumn-winter period, gas consumption will traditionally increase, and taking this into account, daily export will be increased in order to meet the demand of population.”

SOCAR exported 1.32 billion cubic meters of gas to Georgia in 2016.

The company supplies its own gas to Georgia via the Hajigabul-Gazakh-Gardabani pipeline. The pumping capacity of the gas pipeline after its modernization exceeds 3.5 billion cubic meters per year.

SOCAR manages gas distribution networks in various regions of Georgia via the SOCAR Georgia Gas company.
