The cost of drilling the most complex well in terms of geology at Bulla Deniz offshore gas and condensate field was about 60 million manats, said Yashar Latifov, vice-president for field development at Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR.
“Drilling of the most complex well from a geological point of view was completed in 225 days. There were difficulties of technical nature. We successfully coped with them. The well depth is 6,150 meters,” he told reporters in Baku.
Latifov noted that budget amounted to about 60 million manats, as it was planned.
Bulla Deniz was discovered in 1973 and commissioned in 1975. More than 62 billion cubic meters of gas and 12 million tons of oil and gas condensate have been produced from the field since then.
