The US imported 2.56 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan in January-September 2017, as compared to 3.72 million barrels in the same period in 2016, according to the data released by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The US imported 3.715 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan in 2016, as compared to 4.82 million barrels in 2015.
The main export route of Azerbaijan’s Azeri Light oil is Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, via which it is delivered to the Turkish Ceyhan port.
Azeri Light is also exported to Georgia’s Supsa port via the Baku-Supsa pipeline.
Moreover, oil is exported from Georgia’s Batumi port, where it is delivered via railway from Baku, as well as from Novorossiysk port via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline.
