KTIB Holding, based in Baku, has completed drilling of three wells at Azerbaijan’s West Absheron oil field, Trend learned from the company.

The wells were put into operation with an average oil flow rate of 20 tons per day, said the source in KTIB.

“Three wells have been drilled on the #54 platform at West Absheron field. The fourth well is currently being drilled. We hope to complete it by the next year,” said the source, adding that these are controlled-directional and subhorizontal wells.

The along-hole depth of the drilled wells varies between 750 and 1,000 meters and there are two productive formations: one of them is at a depth of 600-630 meters and the other is at a depth of 660-700 meters.

West Absheron field is owned by SOCAR’s Absheronneft Oil & Gas Extraction Department.
