In 2017, Turkey reduced electricity imports from Azerbaijan, as well as from such countries as Greece, Bulgaria and Georgia, Turkey’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources told Trend Feb. 5.
In 2017, the volume of Turkey's electricity imports declined by over 60 percent and stood at $85.5 million.
“In 2016, Turkey imported electricity worth $213.6 million,” the ministry said.
The ministry noted that in 2017, Turkey imported 1.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity from such countries as Greece, Bulgaria, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran and the Czech Republic, which is 68.1 percent less than in 2016.
