Bahar Energy Limited, which is engaged in development of Bahar and Gum Deniz oil and gas block in Azerbaijan, has started water injectivity testing, a source in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas market told Trend.
“We are starting water injectivity testing initially in the Gum Deniz BH FS-X and expect to start water injection later in 2018,” said the source.
The company is preparing modifications to the Bahar 196 platform for drilling in 2018 at the BH NKP gas reservoirs, said the source.
“In addition we are continuing recompletions in both the Bahar gas field and the Gum Deniz oil fields,” added the source.
The plans are to increase production through recompletions in both the Bahar gas field and the Gum Deniz oil field, said the source.
The contract for exploration, rehabilitation, development and production at the block of offshore fields Bahar and Gum Deniz was signed by SOCAR and Bahar Energy in 2009. Bahar field, located 40 kilometers southeast of Baku, has been under development since 1969.
